Totally agree, this is looking bleeding marvellous [8D][8D][8D]

if your going to be using the weber/solex carb mounting you may be better off using the later mk3+4 vogue/superminx exhaust manifold ...
Thanks for that tip - shame I didn't realise the 4 branch doesn't fit as I've sourced a good 'un

Has anybody got one of these other manifolds for sale (or a pic so I know what I'm looking for :I)

... also the other problem you'll find is that the carb may sit 2 high for the engine lid to shut i was just going to slightly elongate the sides and raise the lid to compensate for this. if i remember ill take some pics next time im in the shed of the whole thing bolted together as the engines on a pallet to show you.
Sadly we've got the middle seat so raising the lid is likely to be problematic for us,
http://www.fastroadcars.co.uk/shop/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=22 produce a low profile plenum for this carb - but not sure this helps much. I've mocked up the setup using the head, rocker, manifold and a 'junk' 32/36 - it all comes heightwise to around the height of the oil filler and I know others have needed to shorten this to fit.
Thinking laterally, can somebody advise whether using the Holbay with the Commer sump fitted whether there is any capacity for modifying the engine mounts and so it all fits lower in the engine bay and gains space that way ?
Cheers
