OOh tell us more
I think Paul Goldsmith has found the answer to the prop problem - the front part of the split prop atached to the diff flange UJ seems to be the right length.

Sadly my optomism was misplaced I've just received the measurements of the longer part of the 2 piece propshaft and it's slightly too short in comparision with your 32.5 inches Panky.
A little puzzled why the Hillman GT propshaft is a different length to other Hunters with o/d - I believe these GTs were 3 door only but surely not on a shorten floorpan too ?
Looking forward to this weekend's cliffhanger update ...
right then a little update
first the webers in place
achieved by cutting the air filter mounting plate out completely and then removing a part of the tray behind the seat and welding in a new plate
air flow to the rear carb will be via an air intake into the the wheel arch, checked with two mot stations to make sure it would pass an mot and both happy
increased the cooling option by installing a diesel radiator but will also have an electric back up
roof is now white but cant get a good shot of that yet so heres the front to whet your appetite

Unless you're referring to the Sunbeam Alpine/Rapier coupe which was a 2 door all Hunter shaped cars were 4 door. The GT was a sporty Hunter and I'm pretty sure the Alpine/Rapier shared the same floorpan as all the Hunters so they should be interchangable.
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?
Peggy's got an MOT !!!
