removal of relay lever bushes

Not sure what the relay lever is Chris to be honest.Any pics?

Would it be quicker to borrow one from one of the other vans [?] This is where you can tell if they have been greased regulally or not [}:)]

it was packed with grease!I thought a little suspicious when I got 'ran' maybe was a bit seized at some point ? Tim might find time to actually make the bushes,not sure if they are the same as what parts I have got.Tim will know,really just need tips for taking apart/removal any thing nead to be aware of?
 
I replaced the bushes and pin on my first van, they were available from Dodge/Talbot agents at the time. They were over sized and needed to be reamed out after being pressed into the carrier. It looks like you got some bushes in your spares haul think (but not sure) they are the same size as some of the suspension bushes, you might get lucky. Trouble is the pin wears as well so Martins suggestion of swapping with one of your other vans is probably the best option (packed with grease is good).

hi just done my relay lever bushes had new bronze bushes pressed in and then reamed to the new pin,also had the rear intermediate steering joint bushes done and a new pin these also needed reaming out,with a bit of luck this expence will help with the wooly steering that my van (Betty) had !!

Is the repair pin from speedys right for this and if so which of the bushes do I need (or do they come with the pin) does anyone know:I based on the diagram here it is the steering idler bush which sounds right too (part numbers tie up with speedys). (I know I can call them but thought I would sound everyone here out first;))

Alternatively does anyone have a complete intermediate relay in good nick as presumably I can then just bolt it in if this is easier/cheaper.

Any tips on best approach greatly received looks like people have had some time since this pot started to havbe had to change a few:p
 
Just ask Speedies (or whoever you get them from) for the bushes that come with the pin, they'll know what you mean. Remember - they will need reaming out to the right size once they are pressed in the carrier. Life would be much simpler if you could get hold of a complete unit but that might be difficult.

I have this job to do, as it was an advisory at last MOT. I have the part from Speedys to do it but 1) I'm not convinced it's right. 2) I haven't got a clue how to do it:I

I assumed I would receive a rubber bush of some description but it looks like an odd bit of copper pipe??
