Will have to get a copy of it.

We still get a Christmas card from them occasionally. Really nice couple.

Pootle was called "Winnie" back when they had her.

They dont rush at CVP!
It would speed things up if they had more pages in the mag...its not good value for money:(

Bloody Commer`s!

Think we got her in the summer of 2009, so yes, they have hung onto the story for a bit!

Will have to read the article, but does it refer to the air bag suspension?

It certainly adds to the "rock and roll" feeling as you bounce along!

Hi Panky.

Managed to get a copy of CV&P. Reminds me of how much love Keith lavished on her.

Took a couple of pics this afternoon. Hopefully they will appear below.....

They're not great pics, taken on a mobile, and the bottom of Pootle is greased all over and dirty, but that dirt is what I am hoping is keeping the rust at bay...

You will probably know what you are looking at far more than I do.

This is the rear - the bags are top right.

Thanks Matt, very interesting - the 'air bags' are spring assisters I think, the article says the set up stops a lot of rolling about - how do you find it.

Must admit I find her a joy to drive. She does roll round the corners a bit, but given the height and narrow wheel base, much less than I expected. I tend not to throw her about anyway, but have never had a problem with her.

We did once go to a Suffolk campsite down a load of small country lanes, followed by some friends in a modern Fiat motor home. When we stopped they were cracking up coz I'd been throwing her around these lanes a about 50mph and they reckoned we looked like something out of keystone cops. We had the last laugh though as we arrived at the campsite - it was a muddy field with quite a slope to reach the pitches. Their fancy modern Fiat slid sideway in an alarming descent towards a river whilst the rear wheel drive on Pootle carried us nicely across. I had a lovely feeling of satisfaction as I strolled over and asked if they wanted a tow up the hill.

The driving experience is all part of the fun and as long as I top the airbags up to about 30psi, the roll is greatly reduced.

Oh proper air bags:p, thinking of something similar for Bonnie. Love the Fiat story:D

The one thing I didn't like about driving her was the braking, or lack of. Maybe coach built are worse due to the extra weight of all that wood interior, but we got a remote servo from Martin and a mate fitted it. The difference is incredible. Highly recommend them.

Oh yes the servo is essential. Makes the brakes feel like a reasonably up to date vehicle.
Interesting suspension mods. What is the top of the telescopic shock fixed too?

I just need a good rootes...
