PB on Ebay

I don't think so it's not tax exempt which always makes it worth more in my eyes plus it needs affair bit of work. And most know this sold at auction 3-4weeks ago for around £560 and no work has been done since the auction.
Anway there my thoughts which don't always meet everyone else's [}:)][B)]

Didn't know it needs work. I gathered that if it has a new M.O.T then it must be pretty sound? Also, there aren't many choices around at the moment within that price bracket. Personally i'm not over fussed with Tax exempt anymore because let's face it, the average joe only uses their van's throughout the better seasons anyway, so tax it for 6 good months and sorn it for the remainder! As you say, it depends on what your needs are;)
As regards to the auction, i knew about that....We all had the chance to purchase didn't we;) but did we?? NOPE!
One man's junk is another man's gain then it seems:) believe me(Aswell as a fair few folk on here) try restoring your van for less than what this van costs, i can assure you that it will far outweigh what your original budget was :D

Pretty sure that's the same seller as before and he originally had it up at that price as a buy it now, before re-listing it as an auction.

I tend to agree with Scott on this, New MOT so not needing any work to get on the road, tax again, its nice not to have to pay out tax but 6 months for if and when we have a summer is not alot, agreed that there will be things that need doing body wise but don@t they all!!! i think in the current commer price market this is not a bad buy, get the little body work things done and a good spray job and this will have more than doubled the price. Yes the guy is gonna make a tidy profit but ain't we all trying to do the same :D

It's the one that was sold on the 'siezed car' auction a month or so back. Looks pretty good:)

They're the things that really cost the money. It's easy to do a quick repair to get an MOT, but I'm sure we've all been there where a vehicle's had a patch put over some grot only to appear as a massive hole two years down the line.

Now I'm not implying that this has. I've never seen it, but I would personally be a little sceptical of someone buying cheap, getting it tested and punting it on for a profit. At least until I'd seen it with my own eyes.

Restoring a van to high standard is what costs money and is worth paying for (Think Super Vista)

It doesn't mean that it is instant profit even then. It's possible to spend £000's on a vehicle, restoring/modifying/improving. Doesn't automatically make it worth the sum of those parts.

I tend to agree with you 80mojo when I bought Lulu she was described as only having a bit of rust on the back door but i sent her straoght over to Mr M. and I think he's found she is more filler than metal but I bought her for my pleasure not for profit (it's a good job I didn't) as I had one before and loved her.

Yep agree too Mojo. I bought the Super Vista despite it not being the most desirable model as I've seen all the work done to it. It's been down to bare metal, there's no hidden nightmares, and the chaps really know these inside out so won't need anything expensive for quite a while. To pay for body work and a paint costs £1000's, it's a bit of an art form if it's to be done right. Mechanical work realistically isn't that expensive on Commers and many can tinker and do it right. On older motors the body has generally been bodged by amateurs over the years and at some point needs a good sort out. A little bit of surface rust usually means much worse behind, look at the Super Vista thread back from 2009.

I bet the majority of Commers out there would look pretty shabby if they were acid dipped. I don't know this van at all so hopefully not speaking out of turn but smells to me like there would be a lot to be spent on metal work and paint over the next few years so tread carefully.

Saying that at the £500 original price, a bargain :)

If you die owing money you've made a profit

back on e-bay again , might be worth an offer ;)before winter sets in..., .
at least you have an interior ......and the body work looks pretty decent.

Seriously, for under three grand i'm surprised it's still for sale. All those that come on here asking if anybody is selling a van should look a little further than their nose;)
