Momentous weekend with Evangeline.
Made the 366m climb through the mountain highway, and we actually PASSED someone.. Wonders never cease.
Huge campground and very busy. One last hurrah before summer winds down and school starts.

Cornwall this weekend driving down in biblical weather. I had no idea that my van had a limp mode. Managed to get into services where my ‘pace van’ was waiting for me. Torrential storm. Mate stayed in food queue and I went back with incompetent optimism to fault find. Got a shock of a ht lead wiggling spark plug connections. It must have been water ingress as was fine. Wind blew my door into his so will now have to get my blue paint off his can. Got completely lost finding campsite. The next day was lovely and we all got out. Left early this morning to try and miss the rain. Lovely drive back apart from psychotic satnav and discovering my van had wee’ed everywhere in garage. Spigot hole near top of tank had no bung in it so fuel sloshing out. Managed to bung end of breather tube onto it with cable tie and thought the worst that would happen would be vacuum problems. All went well after that. Every day’s a school day. 
In the Peak District at son's place. Unusually warm and sunny well into the evening.

Jim, before he moved out into the sticks, my son used to live just down the road from you in Whitehouse Lane.
Just a couple of valleys away, I’m ecclesall side of the city, love it trouble is everyone’s now moving here from London since lock down

As all local campsites were fully booked we were lucky to set up our Somme command post on my Uncle and Aunts land. Admittedly we weren’t continually shelled and we didn’t get dysentery, trench foot or covid but the mud was there. Great weekend and fun relaxing and a wslk on the Moors.
