Hi Jon the pickup looks good you have done a good job that is one motor I wish I never sold. I now have a 2 door Hillman avenger that I've just finished so it's time to do th Cadillac now. The engine going to cost me £2400 to have the cadillac engine rebuilt so this Commer came at a good time to fund it. I was going to keep the Commer and sell the avenger but I have spent to much money on the avenger and the Commer won't fit into the garage.

It ows me the kings ransom in man hours!! Ive spent so long doing it and have still got to finish the bed off. It was seriously rotten in places and had to make each panel by hand. The under side is as good as the top;)This is before i fitted all the new brake pipes and cylinders

What a cracking Maidstone! and it actually looks likes it was found in a barn unlike most ebay "Barn Find" vehicles. Looking on Ebay I sometimes think there are more barns in the UK than garages :D
Love the pick up as well! ;)

Hi guys I think marbals is gone and deep down think my chances are near to 0%..........
So I'm going to dartford to have a look at this old girl really excited!!!!
Will keep you all posted on my finds.

Hi guys,
Been to see this old girl in the flesh (metal) and as we all know the Maidstones are lovely and she is no different.
I have takin the odd pic hopefully I can put them up tomorrow when eves not using the main computer forceing me to write this on my iPad.
So good points, the engine sounds like she wants to go for a long run across the country, the in side looks like its not been touch since 83 when it was last taxed, the under neath looks strong with no holes or high rust. Most of the rubber seals around the windows and roof look in good condition and the main good point is she looks like she has a great personality. The down side are my welder came with me and thinks tho all can be replaced/repaired etc there is a lot to be done on the external body. The rear above the door is probably the worst repair that is needed. I think taking the work that is needed with the price she is already up to I might be pushed out of the running for her. Barry the seller was a nice guy and said he will let the auction run its time hopefully I will see him again to pick her up but not confident. Plus Barry said he had extra pics of her being pulled out of the barn so if you read this Barry could you put some of them up for us. Hopefully are have my pics for you tomorrow.

Far far worse has been repaired, I did some repairs on the rear roof, I'm the first to admit it could have been done better but there are at least a couple of guys on here that could make up proper repair sections no problem.
