had a bit of a break due to one thing and another but back on track now. had a wee problem with the water pump. it was totally blocked with crystallized stuff. I cleaned it out flushed the radiator etc. and it is running wonderfully now. iv left the thermostat out cos it doesn't seem to be working properly and it doesn't seem to mind so that's all good. filled a few holes too :)
hope you all are well

Get and fit a new thermostat, the engine won't run as efficiently as it should without one.

Peggy can do 78mph!
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

yes true I am just so glad the engine is running smoothly. I am a bit of a plonker I poured boiling water onto the thermostat in a cup and it didn't move and i thought that would be hot enough but the other day I tried heating it up in a pan on the cooker and it opened fine lol. so ill put it back in. the only thing is it was ages ago when I took it out and I cant remember which way it goes back. it seems to fit both ways. also I have taken the lining of the sides ready for welding etc. and it was looking a bit scabby too and the foam backing it glued on rather well. any hints of how to get it off easily

The van is back from martins after being welded back together. with new trim brakes that work and road legal. the drive back was sweet lost a bit of water and a loose wire on an indicator but other than that ran smoothly.
took him to the river in York for fish and chips on fold up chairs, all very exciting

yes i must thank you all for persuading me to keep him.
its 12 years since Ive driven him and it was amazing. Still scary round corners hate speed bumps but i was thinking seems a bit spritely and better acceleration till i remembered hes lost a lot of weight lol. my work is cut out to put it all back on over the winter now. happy days. im glad you have seen him panky as he shares your initials :D
P.S. ive changed my photo website so fingers crossed pics will stay from now on
