thanks for welcome advice much appreciated[^] - bet caddys' was a BIG fuel tank[:0]

its weird you should all be talking about leaking fuel tanks because when i bought mine the guy said that it also had a leaking tank, but only if i fill it up more than half way,so it sounds like mine might be split on the seam aswell.:p:D

We might be in area around 19th would be nice to meet like minded nutters. dont know any of you as yet do you mind strangers turning up

No such thing as strangers in here. I can't make it myself but I'm sure my fellow forum contributers will make you very welcome. Just bring beer and burgers to make sure :D

Barry ur in 10-4 we are all in this together :DI didn't know any of theses crazy people either :Iuntil I joined this mad house [}:)]it was really good fun meeting up :Dlooks like the comm :Dvoy just got bigger, any body counting heads [?]Martin is the site big enough for us all [:0]

Sorry we cannot make the 10-13th my sons birthday set up for a weekend on Shell Island in North Wales first trip in my new steed.
Actually if you have not been its a great place for camper vans. Only camper vans and tents allowed.
Will come along to the next meet.
Martin check my spelling please :);)
Will put photo of my van on site next week for all to see.

Used to go there regular when the kids where small :D Some camping areas where quite lively but you could get lost in the dunes and rock pools [^]. Ace place. I wonder if Maes Artro is still there. It was a 'craft village' nearby, built on an old air-force camp and was a pretty good day out in itself :).

yep Panky its still there.
You have to pick your spot but Island is big enough to find haven.
Gret news is you can have real camp fires. I will post pics as of van on island. Cant remember seeing Commer on Shell.

I think I'll have enough time to plan this one in :D And who knows maybe I'll have some more pictures of the rust on Harvey by then [V]

Yes I can remember passing the main camping areas with tents and vans arranged in protective circles as if expecting an attack from each other but then headed out to the far side of the 'island' and came across isolated little communities of campers set amid the dunes. We only ever had days out on Mocras, even in the old camper, but we went back on numerous occasions and thoroughly enjoyed it every time [^]

Dont think ill be able to make the devon meet now guys, i rang Speedys today to order the bits i need and they are on holiday break for two weeks!...:(.Back for business on the 9th!, that dont give me the time to get the exhaust sorted to be honest.
Im making the gaskets for the w/pump and thermostat tonight and should have the cooling system all plumbed this week. That just leaves me stuck with the exhaust.

Grrrrrrrrrr!..[:(!]

I have the down pipes, I could send them to you to get you going and then you could send me the set from Speedies when you get them. Mine are new old stock with a bit of dusty rust but they've never been fitted. I don't have the 'Y' piece though to go from 2 into 1.

Oohh you are a Gent panky..

I need...

Twin downpipes
Oil filter(Commer filter fits the GT unit)
Manifold to head gasket (This i may find on ebay though)
A Commer choke cable
The exhaust y piece(i may though fit a temporary dual system, i can get s/hand piping and silencers easy enough)

To be honest i cannnot believe Speedys would shut down for two weeks

Tonight i fitted the w/pump and all the cooling system...its looking complete again!..:D

Send me your address to [email protected] and I'll pack the pipes off asap, that's john_pankhurst8

Awkward though it is I think it's rather old fashioned and civilised to close for a summer break [8D]
