Hi Guys!

Sorry, been busy lately...in reference to your topic about sightings of other Commers in the glorious Southwest of England....NO not a sniff!:( We travel around all the surfing hotspots in Devon & Cornwall, like Newquay, Bude, St. Ives etc. in 'Wilma' (pictures to be posted soon) and never see another one??? - shed loads of VW bays etc. as you would expect. The idea of a Commer invasion to Bude in August sounds brilliant...count us in. Must cruise up and down Bude town for a while though!!??[8D]

Hope to see you all soon,
Razor

I have one somewhere, not sure where i buried it though!...
I should be joining you all hopefully, i should get the hunter engine fitted that i bagged of ebay recently, fingers X it'll run a damn sight better than whats in now..

I'll be with you in spirit, but sadly unlikely to be able to make it:(
Having petrol supply problems:- the first being the need to take tank off and clean out, the second being the cost of the damn stuff now[V]
If the planets align and it all comes together (like finding a petrol well in the garden) I'll be there like a slow, sedate shot[8)]

Seems to be a common problem, I have had to take 2 tanks off recently[V]

Hoping that petrol tank isn't too awkward, will start new topic and pester you to tell me how you got on.....[}:)]:)[:X]

Is this convoy likely to involve lots of ceebee calls involving rubber duck and big 10-4s? I seem to have the music from the film stuck in my head[^] this is where I show my age and no-one has the foggiest what I am on about.:I

The petrol tank is an easy swap..6 bolts which will more then likely need WD40 to ease them out, loosen off the filler pipe, the sender connection, the breather and its off and out..I had to swap mine last month(the original split at the seams).

Panky:yes i did bag the GT, and yes im going to be letting the O/D box go to someone most worthy of such a 'luxury'...

:)

If you cant find another good clean fuel tank then Frost restoration ltd sell some very good products to restore a fuel tank.I used their products on a fuel tank on a 77 Caddillac Fleetwood.

Looks to be the same as the Rapier engine I got. I was going to leave the viscous fan on to see what difference it made to engine noise in the cab, looks like you are going to do the development work. I bagged a twin exhaust down pipe the other week but when I offered it up the angle it stuck out at gave me the impression it would foul the Commer engine bay somewhere. Probably wouldn't be a problem just a candidate for a bit of oxy-acetylene spanner work :D
