6 months in and the restoration is progressing well, still on target for completion this summer.

Paint scheme now on the front, not original but the family like it. Amazing how new rubbers improve the look. All the welding, trim, brakes, engine, electrics, and interior done - the bank balance has taken a bit of a knock. Tested the original awning and it has come up a treat.MOT booked for Friday, now feeling like an expectant father.

Looks lovely, quite like the colour scheme myself...maybe be a little careful with that number plate covering the bottom air dam, might interrupt the air flow a bit, Need all the cooling you can get

First time the van and awning setup together. My kids tried it out last night and had a great time so we're off next week to all try it out.

Good job it's more than a mile away, less than that and you wont get free recovery;)

Had a full weekend away down in the Cotswolds and discovered two issues.
1. Would not start again until it had cooled down - evaporation in fuel lines I guess.
2. Driving back in hurricane Bertha water came through the top of the windscreen. I have replaced the screen rubber but clearly haven't quite got it right.
Despite these had a cracking weekend and Vinnie did us proud, even a few positive comments from other campers.

Well done in getting back before the storm really kicked in, it's absolutely chucking it down here now and Commers aren't the easiest drive when there's strong winds blowing.[^]

Well done on completing your first trip[8D] The weather was awful wasn't it, I drove back from Yorkshire last night in Harvey so know what it was like first hand[xx(]
The hot starting thing is quite common unfortunately, it can be eased by re-routing the fuel line from the pump so it runs in front of the radiator. Re-sealing the screen usually involves lots of Tigerseal:I

Thanks for the advice, now extended and rerouted the pipe in front of the rad and covered with ali heat barrier tape.
During the weekend run we kept loosing 1st and 2nd gears which I could only get back by pushing against the reverse spring, stir porridge and shout some Anglo-Saxon language, so it looks like I need to have a go at the linkages.

You might get away with adjusting the linkage but you will probably find the linkage bushes need replacing on the gearbox end, easy and cheap to do:)

Nice one, good when it's an easy fix:) I wonder if it was laid up in the past because of a 'gearbox fault' :I
