New Commer

That does look nice, pity I couldn't find the right container! Are you going to leave the front grill like that in recognition of its life down under?

Haha, yes Chris - you were caught on camera ;)!

I'd rather not potentially damage anything if I swap the grill 180 degrees so I do like your idea of passing it off as an obvious choice with it being from down under :p

Well done. That's one smart van!

Thanks Colin :D

It's with RH Specialist Insurance. I've always used them and always had great policies - the last being £68 for the previous van. I guess once we have a registration number it may increase, but no idea. It is being kept at a 'descreet vehicle storage site' which I guess helps a lot as that is cctv controlled etc and it's on only 3000 miles a year for now. Last time Fonty was stored there she was parked next to two Allegros used in the to show Life on Mars and various other things in their own air controlled tents! Our driveway is a right of way and not wide enough for a garage, nor two cars and a commer on it!

I used to use RH insurance, always had low prices.:)

Very Nice and Congratulations, hope you can make it to Martins on the 7th.

We are hoping too. I've as much paper work as I can ready to send off for the registration, hopefully the MOT will be passed on Monday/ Tuesday and I can send it off and the DVLA will be nice and sort very quickly!

Had a slight issue with the MOT - the van wouldn't start for long enough. Issue fixed when they realised it was a timing issue. Shame they hadn't listened to me as I told them on Friday that Phil the previous owner had told me it was out. Anyhow, as of today it now has a new 12 month MOT :)!! It has one advisory - Axle king pin has slight play offside front....i'm sure that comes up with every van I have had for every MOT .

So I have sent off for its registration, but seeing as you have to send off a cheque and they advise that it may take 4/6 weeks I am not hopeful for next weekend.

The better news is though that I have this evening seen the van! She is a beauty. I'm very happy with her - will need to fettle a few things for our needs (it has no storage with the back taken up with the air tank etc) but that can be sorted with an awning ;). A few other its need attention to just finish her off but she is beautiful.

A few thinks internally to do:

Some final touches to the vinyl/ fabric and/or repairs.
Repair to the front seats.
The bed config needs doing and made up.
The fridge/ cooker/ sink unit needs completely replacing I think as it isn't really fit for our purpose.

Oh and the 1/4 light rubbers need doing - which I have from Frank!!
