NEC Classic Car Show 12th 13th 14th November 2010

Wow, The photos looks great,[^] love the displays for the vans in the pics. Well done to everyone involved with vans in the show !! [8D]:)

Had a great day today even though it seemed like the whole world had turned up (hard work to two little ones in tow). It was great to meet martin, panky and hazel, didn't get chance to meet woolfy unfortunatley, many thanks for the advice things are getting clearer in my mind with how to go about restoring katy. All the vans looked the part and deserved to be there, well done all involved!

Well done to those Gentlemen (and Ladies) on the Commer stand[^]

The pictures show an impressive display[8D]

BTW, eldest was wondering if the Bugatti Veyron from last year was there again this year.....but I guess you wouldn't have noticed[?]:)

anyone got any more pics of the vans they can show. i forgot to take me camera.:(;):p

Just got back from an amazing weekend[^] So much to see but didn't get a chance to get outside the hall we were in:I There was so much interest it was almost overwhelming at times, the queue to get to see the vans was blocking the Hillman stand at times (sorry Moley[8)]) I almost lost my voice on Saturday there was a constant stream of people wanting to look around Harvey and ask all about him - I was on auto pilot by the end of the day. Mike, Hazels dad, was in in his element showing off Clarabel to wide eyed visitors and Martin was looking distinctly knackered at the end of the day with all the attention the 'tector van was attracting - shock and awe is the way to describe the reaction of most people. Will need to upload the pics but hopefully will have them on tonight.

Another surprise visitor dropped by to check Harvey out, I was wondering who the very knowledgeable gentleman was who commented on my non-original floor covering and the gave the interior a quick once over. He was very complementary and when I launched into my routine explaining that Harvey was a '71 Autosleeper the gentleman said 'I know, I built it - I owned the company' You could have floored me with a balloon, it was Mr Trevelyan, sorry don't know his first name, he was there for just a couple of moments but it made my weekend when he said ' very nice - cherish and keep it' [8D]

All too soon it was time to pack up and go home

What a fab weekend for all you show attendees,;) awesome pics from those who took the piccys there, & yup.. great video too Panky!! What you ALL did there was give a brilliant representation for all Commers Van Owners (Not only from the UK but Worldwide too !!!!!!!!!!!)[^]:)[8D];):p

Wishing it was closer to here to be able to visit the show too.:D Oh well !!

Cheers,

Good to meet you Panky. The stand was a credit to all involved.
Hope you found your cup of coffee Martin?

Rust never sleeps – cavity wax and valium should do it

Great to meet you too Gary and all the other Commerfans that joined us - it was just great to see the enthusiasm generated and I hope we gave you some ideas for the re-builds you are carrying out.
It was Harvey's finest hour rubbing shoulders with the best and I am honoured (and still amazed) that we were asked to bring him along - thanks guys[8)]
Still p****d off with the numpty who climbed into the cab while I was busy and managed to pull the gear knob off ripping the overdrive wiring out of the switch[:(!] then put it back loosely for me to find as we drove out of the hall[V]

i know i looked in and talked to you mate but i promise it had nothing to do with me. some people dont give a crap do they. there was two or three guys looking around my van on the saturday and one of them just opened the passager door and jumped in to see what it was like inside without asking first, i wouldnt mind to much normally, but he had a great big ruck sack on his back and he tried to get in the van with it still on his on his back, i only notice because i heard the buckels hitting the paint work and metal on the outside.[:(!];) oh well.

Looking back I know exactly who it was, I was talking to a couple of guys round the back of Harvey when I heard the cab door shut, I could see the guy sitting in the cab and could hear him trying the gears. When I got a chance I went round the front just as he was climbing out, after a brief chat he disappeared. Everything looked normal as the knob had been put back on and the wires tucked out of the way, he was a big bugger so he would have got away with it even if I'd noticed:I Big clumsy git[:(!] I really don't mind people looking and touching but I just wish they would be honest and careful.

Well, I'm stunned.... [:0][:0][:0]

My brother & misses brother made it to show and showed me some lovely pics. Can't believe how much I've missed from all the collective progresses on all these hard won vans. They are all a HUGE credit to Commerkind, makes a girl proud....(dabs tear from eye)

Inspirational........[^]
