New scoop fitted. You can't really see but I got a sheet of stainless from work...still wrapped. When I removed the film, I found that it was lovely mirror polished.

View from the front to the engine bay, the scoop is longer than the one that was on there, I have made it longer to direct air straight at the rad.

Took the old girl up the motorway a 5 mile uphill stretch and cranked her up to 65mph and got Josie to take a pic. I tried refurbing the speedo, but it still reads really low, so I use a phone app to monitor the speed.

We are on holiday for 2 weeks from Friday and are planning a roadtrip. We have joined Britstops so have access to free camping at over 250 farmshops, vineyards and pubs, so we plan on doing two weeks of that, hopefully ending up in Devon...or France. We are just going to play it by ear.

Looks good Nick [^]

It's all good! Just fannying around with the van getting ready for our hols. Big ole airlock in the cooling system removed and running loads cooler. After a very stupid mistake, I managed to get the uprated alternator fitted. So surely all the engine bits must be upgraded now!

Just checked out Britstops, a lot more stops than last time I looked - joined up member now[8D]

Day 4 and 300 miles into our holiday. We are at our first britstop at the pink pig farm in lincs. We have a field to ourselves. No one for miles around, a fridge full of pork and cider. And the camping is free....brilliant so far.

If you need any help, I am near Milton Keynes and have a full equipped workshop that you can use. It's about 15 miles south. I also have a head gasket you can use. Regards, andy. Ps, will be in the workshop all day tomorrow.

Nick. If you need a hand, give me a call on 07767 888462. If you can't move under your own steam, so to speak, forgiving the pun, I might be able to come out with a trailer to collect.

If you do go to gaskets for classics, be prepared for the guided tour. They are quite chatty there! :)
