In other news, our lovely curtains are ready!!!! lol These are thermal lined and make a big difference...and they are tastfully patterned!!
The over drive gearbox is finally back from the garage. The two splined thingies would not line up because they were seized. Uncle Lez had to strip the overdrive to fix. So this weekend? Might have a go at fitting it. I have the box, the propshaft, the solenoid, the wiring diagram. just need to make up a bracket, but have plans for that and just need the od switch which is ordered. lets see how it goes....how hard can it be?

Quick quiz...how does a round pebble get itself lodged down the breather pipe on the fuel tank? The little sod was jammed in nice and tight. It was right at the neck end and could be seen from inside the filler neck. Gotta be worth another 5hb having removed it...lol
Ordered the leccy water pump. Panky, the rubber bung you used, was it off a wine demi-john by any chance. I also got the crossmember tacked together but ran out of gas. I have also wired up the relay and switch. Many thanks to thowman for the diagram.
Good decision with the lekky pump, is it a Davies Craig. The demi-john bung was my first attempt, it wasn't very successful as it leaked. I got Tim to weld one up for me in the end.

I have an ammended and updated version of the wiring for the OD. You will need a diode for the loop wire, so that the main solenoid current doesn't flow through the dash switch, and also a 8 Ohm 5W resistor to use in the earth wire. Understand?

Good day today. The leccy pump arrived! I used an ally repair kit to seal off the mechanical pump body, then plumbed in. Unable to site it as low as panky's. Then I fitted the new gear box. Jobs left to do....wiring and fettling.
Hi panky....so the pump sucks from the bottom of the rad andthen flows out the pump to the old pump housing? Is your pump switched or always on? Any idea of new fanbelt size?

Remember to seal off the bypass as well, it's just a stagnant section without the original pump internals.
Did you drill a hole in the thermostat? you need a little bit of flow through to detect the temperature rise for it to operate.
