Lol...how I love my van! I mentioned before that she stuttered a bit especially at speed so Ichangef the petrol cap....well it happened a couple of times today. This coincided with a rise in volts on the battery charge indicator to 15v. Same time the windscreen wipers sped up. I have an electronic dizzy that doesn't like more than 14.2v. Any ideas why the charge meter reading is up and down like a wh+res draws?
Could be the regulator in the alternator playing up [B)]

Ah....so no separate regulator....I shall stop looking for one then lol
Might not have a spare fanbelt, but I do have spare alternators. Lol
Good old fettling weekend. Alternator swapped and now sits steady at 13.5v. More excess wiring removed. Gave her a good wash and clean up. We are at belvoir steam rally at the weekend.

We are also going to Belvoir at the weekend
though we are not going in Gladys it's her turn to stay at home.
We are going in the Superminx and the Portafold so make sure we'll have a cup of tea or a beer somthime over the weekend together

Hello Cleethorpes! 80 miles trouble free. 13.5v temp just below halfway! Think the petrol pump isn't big enough, still stutters at high speed. Well the leccy fuel pump was off of a mini!

Ha ha moley! Waving like a mad 'un! Lucked out at cleethorpes. Stumbled into a cider and folk festival. I think I need to check my breather then panky.
Storming weekend. 150 miles on one tank of joy juice. Camped on cleethorpes showground next to the mini steam railway, which cost 14 quid. Steam train to centre of cleethorpes was 3 quid return. The cider festival was brill, though they ran out of cider, so we were drinking mixeddregsfrom the bottom of the barrels, cider and Perry mixed is nice. This weekend is a must do! Only problem was the water pump started leaking on the way home, sprinkling water over the ignition system. Good job I had a full tank of ewater and lots of wd40
Lol...on further inspection...my rapier powered commer has a commer water pump. So the spare rapier pump is no good.
In the abscence of replacement water pumps. Has any one done a pump rebuild without the recommended press?
First top tip.....don't do this job without a press.
Second top tip is don't apply heat to the impeller....its not ch#ffing metal its plastic....then you will be gutted....just like me!
