Are we talking 'old' money Panky? lol:)

Lol....all the mechanicals on the van will be new soon....blummin clutch playing up, suspecting clutch release thingy, very little movement from the bell house lever, unless physically moved, and a bit of a rattle when trying to engage the clutch. It will run perfect soon!

Oh commer gearboxes are a joy to drop, if you are used to the hassle of mini gearboxes. Thrust bearing removed, it was the old bearing type. The new one is 5mm thicker...I am guessing they are interchangeable?

Give the van a wash and go out for the day tomorrow[8D]

Went to tidy up the passenger side rear verticle seams, to find holes where the panels meet. Any suggestions for a temp fix? Have treated the rust and am tempted to use filler till I get round to sorting...they aren't big holes so I might lead load them...

A bit of fettling.....rear quarter sealed. I have removed a couple more metres of wiring from the front cab. I found a lever under the dash, am guessing this is for the heater air intake. Checked it out and it moves along with the sound I would assosciate with a flap moving, checked for something moving under the top grill.....nothing...removed grill and the hole has been sealed up with a piece of plastic, some rivets and the painted over! Am learning all the time with this baby! What to do...leave it sealed or remove....would this explain why the heater only blows cold? Also moved the windscreen wash button to somewhere I can reach!

On ours, the heater blower will circulate cab air through the matrix if the intake grille is closed.

Heater only blowing cold air suggests its not getting any hot water from the engine and there's a tap by the rocker cover on ours that needs to be open:)

Ohhhh!!! not put anything up on here for a while. I put a request for rear doors up a litle while a go, many thanks for the replies and there were a couple of tempting offers, but like a masochist I decided to have a go at fixing them myself....idiot.
The drivers side door was first, as this was the "better" of the two, and was rotten at the bottom, both on the outer panel and inner panel and didn't prove to be too much of a problem. The passenger side was another story, I knew the bottom was constructed of expanding foam and filler.....but until I removed the glass, I wasn't aware that the bottom of the area where the glass sits was also constructed of (wet) expanded foam and filler.

I managed to repair the top of the main skin, but suffered some warpage to the outer skin,

so tried a different method af attack on the bottom repair, I made up a panel and added a stepped flange, so that this sat behind the original door skin, I then used the punch on the joggler to create a line of holes on the original panel and then "button" welded the panel in place. This was then lead-loaded before a skim of filler was added.

I have spent the last week, filling, sanding filling sanding...you know the score.
I finally managed to get some paint on today, and while the doors are not perfect, I don't think that they are bad for a chef!!!

The line just below the window on the passenger side is not as sharp as it should be.
And yes I know I have forgot a pair of hinge holes lol

That's brilliant[8D] not seen that repair done before on a Commer. I had to let a little piece into the window aperture but not on that scale.
