My New Baby!!!

Basically fill all the galleries and filter with oil. Sometimes you have to fill oil pumps with Vaseline to get a seal so it can suck :I
Spin it over with the plugs out until you can see oil circulating :)

"You,re only supposed to blow the bloody SLIDING doors off"

LOL...wish I was resting! Currently working a few 12 hour days. This weekend is my last days off till October, so.really want to get it sorted.

Good Luck over the weekend -We will be thinking of you at Blackpool! Hazels Dad- If you get stuck -Martin and Panky will be there -and we have modern communication systems!

Working a few 12 hour days seems to have done the trick! -Sharpened the mind! All systems go now -Good luck Hazels Dad - who's not visiting Blackpool now to see Clarabel and family -Grandaughter quite poorly so roofrack loaded but still in Hazels drive. They hope for a better day tomorrow but under doctors orders.

Pleased she's on the road now! - Once the oil burns off and you set the timing there will be no looking back- youv'e come a long way in a short time! -I remember the bits in the garage! Well done. Hazels Dad.

Did the timing, and she wouldn't rev over 2500 rpm. Checked everything and still the same. Had a fiddle with the carbs and got into a mini frame of mind...on lifting the piston dampers the engine cut out....so richened the carbs and she is lots better!

Been out today...work and back..starts first turn of the key...no fluids dripping...no overheating...getting a bit suspicious!!!

Beats the bike! Your'e right though the lack of overheating would worry me-most uncharacteristic! better stick the thermostat back in ? That should do it. Well done again - a good result -Hazels Dad

Just tidying a little rust bubbling through on the verticle seams on the rear quarter. There is so much unnecessary filler on the van! Question.....is there a welded seam that runs horizontally, following the waist line just the side windows that runs round the rear quater? If not I will remove the filler and get some sharp lines back on the van.

Nick-good to see you have now moved on to cosmetic matters! You can see a good crisp view of the back end lines on Clarabel - page 23 of 'My Ride needs a makeover' in Readers Rides- Good to see your progress -Hazels Dad

Evening all,
The van has gone to a classic garage for some fine tuning. I did take it a week or so ago, but they sent it home with a list of jobs to do before they would work on it lol....I had mounted the petrol pump too high up in the engine bay and had mounted it vertical. Also they didn't like my wiring lol. I got the jobs sorted and took it back for inspection, hopefully get it back this week.
I am making plans for winter and have a couple of weeks holiday owed, the plan for then is to sort out the 4 doors, the two front ones are starting to go at the bottom, as is one of the rears. Has any one reskinned the rear doors? are the door skins fairly straight forward to make, I know that Woolfie does the fronts, but the rears look simple enough.
Also I want to get the drivers front door sorted, the hinges need sorting as the door drops when opened, and it's not the door or hinge panel. Does anyone know of a fix for this or does any one have any decent hinges I could Purchase.
Other plans for winter involve lots of underseal, varnish, a sewing machine plyboard.
