Nick - thanks for the roof rack - original and just what we needed for Clarabel, have started to clean it up a bit -the bottom runners were galvanised and all of the top is aluminium.Hope to have it fitted by the end of the week -need to get Clarabel working first -still no spark until the old distributer arrives. Good to see you at work in your garage -good luck with the rebuild, it will be worth it in the end! Hazels Dad.
Glad to Help!!!!. I have had a garage clear out since you have been, lots of stuff sold on ebay, and I have viewers tfor the weird cars that were on the drive...not the mini tho!!!!! Should be a nice fund to get a proper little engine sorted, plus some bodywork.

Yup. Sold in hours, set the buy now too low. It was the BMW 8v mini conversion. Still got the 16v though. Ahhh did you see it on eBay?

Getting ready for speedies spares return from Holidays!!!! They do a +40 piston, yet the haynes manual I have says you can only go +30...has any one had any experience with this?
Yes, put the Haynes manual in the toilet and use it to wipe your ar.............................

lol....I did think that...ever removed the clevis pin on the clutch and brake pedal on a mini....a right swine of a job that takes ages and ages and is really awkward, involves skills of a contorsionist, 2 foot long finger...Haynes "remove clevis pin"

Ever since i did my first I replace the split pin with an R clip and have even have a piece of string tied to them both lol
Just remember "reassembly is the reverse procedure"
I did go for the R clip conversion, but omitted the string to save weight

Ahhh the dreaded reassembly is the reverse of fitting....got a rootes engine to build gulp....I bgged all the bolts...just never labelled them!!!!
The block has gone for work, pistons, crank, bearings etc etc ordered. Phew
I hate waiting for engineers! In the meantime I have been dynomatting the engine bay, and tidying it up
