Think I've got a front wheel bearing gone, either that or a very tweety bird is nesting under the front.

:I:I:I We've had the front wheel off to check the wheel bearing, fixed it straight away, by tightening the wheel nuts up :I:I:I three of the five were loose.
Bit of an update from our two week outing in Brian,
We covered just short of 700 miles, down to the New Forest, Beaulieu and Wareham Forest, we blew up two coils (the 2nd one went as we came away from Beaulieu on the Sunday just as the speedo reached 66,666 [:0][:0][:0] that was scary. Big thanks to Panky for pointing us in the direction of Hazels' dads similar problems, we disconnected the feed to the split load relay and that solved the problem for now (although we now have two new spare coils on board just in case)Dave thinks we need a larger output alternator as we also blew up one sat nav and one inverter, or a more modern alternator with better regulator, has anyone else done this[?] all these problems occurred because I fitted a fridge back in Brian, we appear to be getting voltage spikes when we turn the engine off.
He has run without problems since we disconnected the feed, ran like a dream all the way back up from Dorset on Sunday we cruised at 65-70 mph
You can fit any alternator you like Deb, so long as its the right "hand" and will physically fit
The J4 one was replaced, after meltdown at Yoxhall meet, with a Bosch 115 amp XJ6 one, never had charging issues since
"You,re only supposed to blow the bloody SLIDING doors off"
now Dave's asked me to ask other question as Brian needs a new exhaust,
I've managed to buy a TR7 stainless steel straight through silencer to use as part of the new system, my existing system is made up of the original downpipe connected by flexihose to the standard silencer, exiting on the passenger side of the van, what diameter is the original downpipe for a 1600cc engine? does anyone know?[?]. Dave thinks it's 35mm can anyone confirm[?] Will the TR7 box alone be too noisy[?] Should I fit another silencer as well as per the Mini systems that others have used[?] ... and finally is there any reason the exhaust shouldn't exit on the passenger side[?]
