Thank you very much Kes... what a fab collection there is!!!! Nice work... great to see how Bluebell should look too :D

Cazz... student commerade!!!!

Many congratulations, Deb and Dave !

I've seen pictures of this Highwayman for years now, but never knew who owned it and where it was. Sounds like it's got a(nother) good home now :)

Interesting to see the inside of it, so thanks for posting the pictures. It really looks immaculate, both inside and out.

regards,
Jostein (also into C-regs) ;)

He hee we have just got back from my first real drive in Brian, only went about 20 miles round trip through Lincoln to friends, managed to get there and back!! Have discovered I need to allow more stopping time at traffic lights (especially when turning to red - whoops[)]does anyone else find the brakes a little slow to respond or should I be worried?

Hi Jostein, thanks for the message, I've just followed links about your Highwaymen (plural) wow your latest one looks great, I think a twin to Brian.

If you are intersted I have photo's of the original restoration of Brian back in 1999 by the then owner, the aluminium body was stripped and the woodwork frame and insulation was repaired and replaced where necessary. They are photo's not digital but I could scan and upload if you like.

Hello Moley and welcome:)

What a fantastic van you have, can't wait to see it in the flesh at a meet:D

Don't worry about the brakes, just allow more stopping time lol

We just went away in Smurf towing a trailer and she pulled it just fine, it was those traffic lights you mentioned lol oh dear! I thought we are never going to stop lol

Hi Enigma, glad it's not just me, Smurf looks brilliant, I guess you will have a better braking system than me as Smurf is newer, I'm thinking of adding an anchor I can drop out of the drivers window :D

Moley,

You're absolutely right: They really are twins.
Adding my rather sad one, we've got triplets between us :D
Only differences between my two are one being 4 berth with chrome bumpers, the other being 5 berth with black bumpers, and the difference in condition of course...[xx(]

I'm very grateful for your generous offer of scanning the photos of the restoration! I'm very interested ! but please do it at your leisure when you've got the time in that case. There is absolutely no rush, as I've got our flat to sort out first - and a baby due in a week [:0]
I've also followed (largely) the restoration work of OK-U on the forum, an even earlier and gorgeous Bluebird, which also was very helpful in understanding the construction of those vehicles.

Please drop me an email if you'd like: [email protected]

regards
Jostein

I can see you Bluebird lot forming a splinter group soon, an unruly bunch of Highwaymen hanging around in the woods jumping out at us innocent autosleeper owners ;):D

Hi everyone, we got back on Saturday from a sunny holiday (Uttoxeter Stag National Weekend)Staffordshire and then onto Alsop-en-le-dale Peak District Derbyshire so we got to spend 8 nights in Brian[8D][8D][8D], he did brilliant, coped with all the hills (ok so 20 miles top speed up the hill in Ashbourne:I:I)he's really comfy to sleep in and the new driveaway awning fitted a treat.

This was the trial run at putting the awning up before we left.

This is Brian acting all shy - sixties flower power;)

Lovely van, glad you had a top time. I love that awning too. I wish we could buy something like that but we can only use the side door.
