Looks like I might have Brian back in the next few weeks, his cab is now all complete and in primer. The fibreglass has been re fibered[?] on the back corners and he should be in primer next week.

Hopefully will have pictures on Monday.

Hi Chris,

Yeah the withdrawal symptoms are bad. It's daft to get so attached to a bit of metal , have you got a replacement engine organised?

I'm pleased to say that last week Brian went straight through his MOT again and then we headed off for the weekend down to North Weald in Essex for the Stag National Weekend meet.

Brian ran really well all the way there and back, apart from the rear brakes sticking a bit ...... Not bad as he's been off the road since last September for his resto. :D

All this traveling is making me think an overdrive gearbox might be good, can anyone tell me what I will need to convert to an overdrive gearbox, is the spline on the Commer gearbox coarse or fine?[?]

Good to hear he's out and about Deb [8D]
Commer is fine spline, but you can use a coarse spline box with the appropriate clutch plate :)
Or you could have a proper 6 speed ;)

Hi Deb, back on the road at last[8D]
Yep input splines aren't a problem, I've just fitted a coarse splined overdrive to Bonnie and all it needed was a new clutch plate and the prop shortening. Be careful though as some very early gearboxes have a coarse splined output shaft in which case you would need a matching prop.
