Martin, John, Barb, Colin, Helen and Heidi & I had a couple of days at a quite campsite in Annan.

Us lads enjoying the lager left behind by the Franks, Cheers Colin & Alan.

After Annan John, Barb, Heidi & I traveled across to Whitby. We took the scenic route and boy did we find some hills.

John & Barb left for Martins but Heidi and I stayed another night. Jim parked on the harbor front while we climbed the 199 steps up to the Abbey.

On our way home we called at a local garage for some petrol.

It only cost 2'6d a gallon, but unfortunately they ran out in 1969.
Now home safe and sound we covered 550 miles without a hitch.

They weren't hills, it was the Himalayas:rolleyes:
We went along the A169 on the way back, Blue Bank was interesting - especially in the fog:eek:

thanks for sharing the photos of your adventures; it would have been a helluva long ferry ride to join you, but perhaps one year!
