Pre 60 lorries have been mot exempt for years, just look at the massive increase in deaths of nuns and fluffy kittens that,s caused........NOT.
It is all about falling in line with EU dictatorship and eroding our freedom.
So what they are saying is a 1959 Mini is much safer with its 7" drum brakes than modified with big vented discs and 4 pot calipers......
This would mean every vehicle i own would be outlawed overnight, along with every historic rally car.
The MOT is worthless, it is no indication of roadworthiness, how many vehicles pass it with a ton of filler/cardboard in structural areas and other numerous bodges ?
Classic cars make up about 1-2% of the traffic on our roads, there is far more "modern" cars out there with dangerous faults.
There is already numerous vehicles on the road which are MOT exempt.
Just because most Commers are post 60 does not mean we should not be concerned, this will evolve in the future................restricted use anyone ?
Don,t get me wrong, i don,t see the exemption as being a good thing, just looking at the bigger picture.
