Sorry to hear your news John, but steer clear of those Renaults, nothing but trouble you know! 
Having said that, I spent two and a half hours on the slip road of the A14 today in a dead Punto cabrio waiting for the RAC (suspect the crank sensor). I did get brought a hot cup of coffee by a friend who recognised the stranded car.

I must admit that I didn't trust those frog cars, but I had a mitzy, which I could get into but struggled to get out of before I had my last hip replaced, so I got the scenic as the seat is bum height, I could just sit on it and swivel around to get both in and out and it's served it's purpose and never missed a beat even with 117000 miles on it. So really I shouldn't say anything nasty about them but I'm now after a ford mondeo estate as I need lots of space for carrying my karaoke gear, with the renault I have to make 2 or 3 trips. But John please don't start moaning because you've missed the deal of the week.

A word of warning when dealing with insurance claims and classics, don't expect a breakdown truck to appear and whisk you treasured possession off and return it as new in a couple of days[V] I've just spent the day phoning round looking for garages that will work on old cars for quotes myself - the insurance companies 'recommended' repair centres wont touch anything that even whiffs of old so I had to do the legwork myself. Luckily I was put on to a trustworthy local place by the gaffer at my MOT place - flippin annoying and this is with RH Specialists who deal with thousands of classics, trouble is it's the actual insurance company (Equity Red Star in my case)not the broker you are talking to and they've got about as much idea about classics as I have about knitting[!]

John there is a garage ay Keighley where I take my renault for servicing but he has quite a few classics of his
own that he buys and does up, but not for resale. This is his web site if you haven't got fixed up with a repairer.

I would still get your self checked at the doctors , whip lash is a nasty thing ,
Also if liability has been admitted on the other party a personal injury claim should be filed as it sometimes takes a few days for your body to settle ...and realise how sore you are .
That looked a solid wing too pity , probable saved a lot of other damage with being in so good nick.
they would have went right through my van if they hit me side on.....

Lucky it's a Moggy really, as they are well catered for and nearly everything is still available.........roll cages too

I'm fine, not a twinge - I wouldn't want to be one of those types that drives you insurance premiums up
Yes the wing was (is) solid as a rock - not a trace of filler[V] I made sure in discussions with the body shop that a cheap pattern part was not on, I aim to be giving them regular visits
