May I introduce Jim

The Jennings belonged to a Guy in Scotland and we had seen it many times on our trips up there.
The Guy is called Jim so that’s why we named the van Jim.

Jim, the Guy took Jim the Jennings in for it’s MOT in May this year and Commers being Commers it failed on Brakes, broken rear springs and would you believe corrosion!

Yes that’s right a very rare Commer with rust unheard of.

Anyway Jim the Guy decided it was time to let Jim the Jennings go so he asked Mr M if he could find a buyer for him.

This is where we came in knowing the van and knowing Jim the Guy and how he had looked after Jim the Jennings we decided to buy him, the Jennings not the Guy.

We then set about getting him ready for a new MOT. We took off the broken springs then set about cutting out all the rust.

Jim finally past his mot in September,:D:p

On our way home Jim been a Commer he ended up on this

Yes muck in the fuel line & carb:(

So got him home, put a cover on him and that where he has stayed until today when I had some spare time so thought I would do a little work on him :)

First I thought I would replace the bottom of the wardrobe with new flooring,

I give the new metal work a coat of Aqua-steel:p

Then my Daughter turned up with my Grandsons,

Not a good idea to put aqua steel on new metal, it just peels off. I found out to my cost[B)] works brilliant on rust, as a converter.

Hi Martin
Yes I know but as the new metal was covered in surface rust I thought it would stick to that and protect it:p

Well I thought is was about time I pulled my finger out and woke Jim up from his slumber. So we took his winter cover off and moved him down the drive :)
