Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

Well the race is on to try and get Lucy ready for the weekend. Johnny has been working really hard for a couple of months now to get her on the road. He's nearly there now but there's still lots of little bits to finish off.
Can it be done??? [:0]

Of course it can :)

Put Lucys new wheels on yesterday and lowered her back down to the ground. Today I have put fuel in the tank and when it got round she fired back into life and could finally be pulled out

Ed liked it in his new bed

Brilliant well done that man[^]
Never seen a plate like that before, obviously an attempt to divert more air through the rad.
Is Ed still up there:D

Looking good [8D]

It looks like it might be a blind to keep the sump warm in winter perhaps [?]

Thanks for the comments :)

Well ...

... Johnny was in the garage before 6am this morning tinkering and doing some final checks because ...

... Lucy's MOT was booked for 12.15 today!!

Here she is on her way

:( Thanks for the comments but unfortunately Lucy never made it for her test!
She was going along great on her way to the test station when all of a sudden I felt that sinking feeling of power loss. I managed to pull off the dual carrigway then came to a grinding halt :(
At first we suspected fuel starvation as the pipe to the carb looked empty - although I had just filled up - so thought I must have an air lock or blockage.
In my excitement to get there and my first journey in Lucy, I set off without my mobile so had to go into a Land Rover main dealer to ask to use the phone. The lady on reception did let me eventually but asked if i could clean my oily hands first :I
I had taken my dad with me jokingly in case I broke down so while we were waiting for Claire to pick him up to collect my LDV to tow her home we noticed that the low tension lead had fallen off. Put it back on and she fired back into life, there was however another problem as the pipe to the carb was leaking so I had to come home and miss my M.O.T [:(!]
