It had to be something daft;) On the plus side if petrol had been dripping over the tester he would have failed it:I

Exactly in fact I said to Claire that it did me a favour. The drive home was a bit scary with petrol dripping onto the manifold though [:0] . Had my dad holding the engine cover up just enough so I could get the gears and armed with a fire extinguisher.

Same thing happened on Harvey's fuel pump only it popped out completely[xx(] I just tapped it back in with a bit of superglue and it's been fine since:)

You might get lucky with epxoy/Araldite/Loctite/chemical metal :)

I did try Steel Stick, a two part epoxy putty, but the stub end was such a neat fit into the fuel pump it just scraped it off hence the superglue. For an 'in the middle of a field' repair it's lasted well:)

It's fine with petrol but it melts aluminium;)
Did you manage to pull the ferrule out to give it a god coating of araldite.

No unfortunately it would not pull fully out. It moved slightly but not much so there is more externally, did tap it fully home as you said though.

Lucy's MOT was booked for 11am today [:0] and ...

... she made it there and back :) and ran really well :D ...

... but she failed :( and Johnny is gutted :(:(:(

She's failed on front brakes uneven, rear brakes and hand brake [V]

Oh and those little orange marker lights on the roof at the front need to be clear!

No need to be down hearted, Lucy's been laid up for so long I'm not surprised the brakes were dodgy. If the cylinders are OK and everything is adjusted properly and all that's wrong is imbalance then they need a good work out to get them operating properly, find a nice quiet road and blast up and down standing on the brakes as hard as you can time and again - that should get them balanced:)
I thought the Dalek ears where indicators:I

I thought the Dalec ears were indicators too until recently, they have been fitted for many years but not acceptable now so I have bought some clear ones. The front spots also came on with the high beam so i took them off before the test. The brake issue is part my daft fault for not checking the rear on footbrake. We fitted new shoes to the rear but forgot to check the cylinder operation:I Cylinders are seized[V]. Missed this as externally they looked very clean, I felt stupid when there was no effort at all on the rear :I
