Lilith the V8 racing Spacevan

So. Today's job was to wire in and fit the rev counter and swop the hazard switch for one with a warning light in it. Turns out that the wiring diagram for my van is wrong. The switch is for a tractor so it had 7 pins not 4.. took some figuring out with the multimeter but I got there in the end.
I relocated the fuel gauge to be under the wiper switch. Just waiting for the new warning lights and illumination LED to arrive then the flight deck is finished.

I love how Americans go on about things that are "Made in USA" being top notch..
They can't even put a drain plug in an auto gearbox that holds 15L of oil. Gotta take the sump off to drain it. . I'm covered in ATF now

Well I've been knee deep in ATF today. I stripped the valve body out of the Gearbox, replaced all the springs with uprated ones, redrilled an oil gallery larger size then fitted an uprated pressure valve. If the instructions are right and I did it correctly then I should get faster gear changes and tiptronic style gear changes.

It's pretty straightforward mate. The new springs are all colour coded and the instructions are easy enough to follow

Another small hiccup today. The Holley fuel pump decided it didn't want to retain any fuel and is pissing out of all the seals.. bloody methanol in the fuel. I'm looking for a rebuild kit.

Well it's off and stripped down, vanes and rotor all cleaned and reinstalled. Rebuild kit ordered from Amazon of all places! Was cheaper than from the manufacturer

All back on, rebuilt and an additional pre filter fitted. There's literally no room for it so the filter is on the axle for now.
Tried to fire her up and the starter decided it wanted to join it's predecessor in the scrap bin.. the standard ones don't like the extra compression.
New one is currently in Memphis Tennesee. Its a high torque lightweight one.
