Lilith the V8 racing Spacevan

Finally finished the cable clamp, got it painted up, made the compensator using two nylon washers with grease in between. Also took the handbrake off... what a job that was!.
Cable sits nice in the old cable end, hopefully it wont need a clamp as it fits snug and the other end is clamped.

So. I ordered an adjustable brake bias valve. It was lost in transit by hermes. I got refunded for it so I ordered another, slightly better one..
Then they both turned up! the one that had been lost turned up like it had been used as a football!

The joys of the courier system. Writing fragile on it is sometimes also a red rag to a bull. At least you ended up with a better one

Had to laugh when my bead roller arrived. weighs 24 kgs, made of really thick steel and had 'Fragile' printed all over the box, the only thing that was fragile was my back trying to lift it

Is it any good. Thinking of getting one to play with

Only had a quick play with it but the larger of the round dies look to be the same as the Commer flutes. I've got a few repairs to do on Harvey, including door bottoms, so hopefully I won't waste too much metal making them - I've no illusions of getting it right first time so it will take practice. Martin's panels are perfect and the way to go but I like a challenge and want to have a go at making my own.
I need to make a guide to get the beads straight so that is my task for tomorrow, I'll probably find a use for it making repair panels for Ted as well. I've got it clamped in my B&D Workmate and it seems pretty stable.

That's the one I was looking at.

My original handbrake cable idea didn't work. The outer sleeve has pulled through the original cable end. Back to the drawing board. It cant be clamped rigid as it needs to move in an arc.

Can you make split collet for the end?
Possibly. I did think of doing like the attached pic, yellow bit is a flat bar bent to a J shape and the red bit is a clamp.. but then tim mentioned rose joints...

I've ordered a small piece of spring steel sheet to try plan B
Stripped the front brakes yesterday to remove the handbrake linkages and cylinders. I will be rebuilding the cylinders and after some research I'm hoping to modify the back plates to aid cooling.
Discs are still on the list but that will be later on

Two hours to get one back plate off... two bloody hours lol... this is what I'm planning on. A cross between these. Obviously being careful not to remove all its strength
