Nice one Nick. It's your turn for a roadtrip today isn't it?

I sorted my garage into 4 piles of stuff.

Apparently the TV debut went OK. We are still in Devon so have no TV access with us.
The van is still going strong but gas started cutting out at junctions again. I cleaned out the idle jet and tweaked the mixture and tick over but still cuts out. Will check timing today.

It would be worth buying a bottle of injector cleaner and adding it to the tank to clean the system from the inside. We had the same problem on a J2 Car Camper years ago while on holiday and a can of cleaner cured the problem within a couple of days.

Bloody Commer`s!

Will give that a go.
Well I made it home after an epic summer holiday roadtrip.... 773.8 miles. The only hitch was the exhaust problem. Has been ok since.
Cost a small fortune in fuel though! And at 100miles per fill up it all went into motorway service station tills.

There's definitely something wrong there - that's not much better than 10mpg:I

Hi Paul,Glad to hear you had a great trip.:D
You may find your fuel gauge is like mine and when it reads empty is actually still quarter full.;)
We are running the original 1725 with weber carb pulling a small but heavy trailer approx "600KG+" and seem to manage around 160-180 miles on the flat, out of a 40L tank. Steep hill climbs increase consumption considerably/unbelievably.[:0]
Standing on the accelerator uphill and on the brakes down hill, all part of the unique Commer experience[^]:).

Anyway congrats on the road trip hope many more to come.

Paul

will have to monitor it then. Most of the roads were steep uphill ones.

It appears my photo uploading is a bit behind... Better get my back side into gear and get some uploaded
