Hi Paul,
Sounds like you are getting there with it.:D
However, If your motor is sludgy, you can almost guarantee the pick up filter in the sump will be congested[B)]. I would agree with the above comment and take the sump off and have a look.

Sounds like a plan. Just need time. Summer hols a week on Wednesday!!!
Nothing like cutting it fine!

On the upside I have managed 90 trouble free miles since the oil flush, the last 20 in torrential rain.

I sorted my garage into 4 piles of stuff.
1. Stuff I`m keeping
2. Stuff I`m not getting rid of.
3. Stuff I might use..one day.
4. Stuff that might come in handy.

Thanks mate.
First run out today towing the trailer. Pulled really well but the temp gauge was on the lower edge of the red on motorway. Rest of the time it sat at normal. Tomorrows job is to make a scoop to get air through the rad.

I think you might need to bend the two brackets that bolt to the chassis the other way and make something up to support the front of the scoop.

I'm on it. Cheers.
Interior now has carpet, door knobs and catches,.curtains etc etc. Just the scoop and fuel breather to sort. Bought new pipe to find the tank end has been made at 3/8". Neck end 1/2". Need an adaptor.

Fuel breather sorted, Was a git to do as the pipe goes through the chassis rail as it goes onto the tank.

Air duct now flipped and refitted. Managed to shear one of the bolts when undoing it. There`s enough thread to get a nut on though. Lotsa cable ties were employed as a temporary measure. I would like to make a new one out of stainless.

Everything is ready for the road trip from West Yorkshire to Devon via Chedder. The route back will be via Devises and Basingstoke!!

It`s going to be fun.... Providing the 4th emergency service isn`t required again!!:(

Great, time for some serious road tripping[8D]
I'll post a pic of my scoop when you're ready if you need it.

Summer's Coming

We made it to Devon!!!
Came via 2 nights in Chedder Gorge. Lost the exhaust on the M5. After visiting various exhaust specialists in a town who's name escapes me at the moment, we found somebody who would entertain us. The van now has a Polo 1.4 centrebox where the exhaust should be. Just needs a longer tailpipe making when I get home.
The trip into north Devon was scenic and hairy. We missed the turning in Linmouth for caravans and slow vehicles.... No where to turn around so fully loaded and towing the trailer we nailed it up the 1 in 3 hill..... First gear, flat out and slowing down... If the hill was 100 yds longer we would have been screwed. Just like the guy in the Citroen HY camper who was rolling backwards as we over took him!
