3. Stuff I might use..one day.
4. Stuff that might come in handy.

On a downer though. A freak gut of wind has blown the garage door into the open rear door of the van. Check strap now bent, pin snapped and the onky undented unmarked panel now isn't

Thanks guys. I`m well chuffed considering it was all a nasty surprise. I have had no training or real experience of body repairs so I hope It`s done to last. My welding skills are being developed further too.:D

Well I drove it to Sunderland on Friday night. No real problems othrr than a noisy gearbox. Parked it up overnight at my mate's house ready for the camper conversion. Started it up yesterday and....... Despite the fact it has got oil in it the pressure light won't go out :-( my mechanic instincts say oil pump failure (smoke coming from filler cap) but I need to remove the switch to check for oil squirting out (I have no pressure gauge with me)
A quick look yesterday in the dark and torrential rain but couldn't find the switch. Anybody know where it is???????

Nightmare that and hope you get to the bottom of it. Not sure why oil pump failure would create smoke from The filler cap, generally broken rings, worn bores or possibly worn exhaust valve guide's especially if an alloy head as I don't think they have stem oil seals.

Hasta la supervista baby

Oh bloody hell, hopefully it's just the switch:I It's located low down on the block below the dizzy - could be the wire just come off, if there wasn't any pressure I think there'd be more than a bit of smoke - that sounds more like leaky valve stems.

no oil getting to top end. oil pump failure. Had to drive it about a mile due to the place it packed up. Hope I haven`t done any major damage. I had it recovered to Martin Maltas.

Got loadsa pics of the ongoing camper conversion though :D

Thanks to Martin Maltas for having a look at short notice. It turns out to have been the oil pressure relief valve stuck open. The engine seems to be running ok but time will tell......
