Lilith the V8 racing Spacevan

Some did. I wanted my battery as close to the axle as possible. Can't put mine under the footwell as there is a secondary radiator in the way

Just a couple of speaker wires....
Getting the live to the starter solenoid isn't going to be fun.. 70mm2 cables don't bend easily

Job done. The lid will be part of the flooring. There's storage in there for the tyre inflator and puncture repair gun as well as a torch. The other side will have the towing eyes, spare bulbs etc.

Straight into the next job. The van runs hotter at motorway speeds but perfect at slower speeds or stationary. It's not the lack of air to the rad that's an issue.. it's getting it out the back of the rad that is the problem. When I made the rad cowling I wanted the fans to pull air through the rad and not round the sides, turns out that it needed flaps fitting.
Rather than remove the cowling (huge job due to the way the interior is fitted) I decided to rivet a panel to it after cutting the hole in the cowl.

Well I cut the rad cowling with a dremel so I didn't touch the rad. Many many discs later it was done. I changed blades to clean up the cuts, sneezed and nicked a coolant channel in the rad. So annoyed. I've ordered some flux core aluminium brazing rod to try and repair it in situ. If it doesn't work it'll mean a full interior strip to get the rad out for repair.
Multiple swear words were heard to echo around the neighbourhood

Well I tried brazing it up. Also put some epoxy on it.
Whilst that bodge was curing I finally started on the permanant Dog house/engine cover. As usual it's all recycled metal..

Just came up trumps.. Full set of professionally made camper cushions. 2 tone grey leatherette.
6 foot base and back, 5 foot base and back and a base and back for a toilet box..... grand total of £0 plus a tenner for fuel.

I ordered 2 different types of weld on hinges as I couldn't decide. Both allow the cover to lift off by sliding. The ones on the left have tabs which will make it easier and stronger. The ones on the right will look better. Decisions Decisions...
Any ideas?
