just re-read afew posts so here are answers (bases on my experience)
Commerracer/Paul there isn't any room for a filter as-is. Expecially with the gaskets on. The plan it to make up a mini pleum chamber to fit between the carb and the filter. I need to be careful as the space it tight and I don't know how much the engine moves when running.
daytona - no panel cutting (I'm not panky you know!) I'll try to post details of the mini plenum once I've made it
I need to have a guess at the needle to use too so the plan it to use ... er the needle thats in the carb at the moment!
a couple of other "top-tips". I got myself a hif 44 carb head sheild as this includes the mounts for the choke and throttle cables which shold make things easier. I've also just baught a choke cable clip (which fits on to the heat shield) and a HIF specific acelerator cable which includes the special flange that also fits on to the heat sheild.
more updates when they happen!
