Hi Studio. I've just dug out a brochure I'd clean forgot I had for the Autosleeper. It is from around '74 as it shows an 'M' reg van on the cover but it is identical to Bessie. There are some brilliant shots of the interior showing the dark blue cloth upholstery. My scanner is U/S at the mo so I've taken some pictures to see how they come out. Will post better ones for the archive when I get scanner working.

Noticed they stopped short of Grace, Space and 'Pace'

Hi Debs we've got "Elsie" a commer Highwayman but she's not on road yet.Been painting, cleaning and fabloning the inside. I've bought new foam and will be making new curtains and covers soon.Have to fit new fuel tank and have just been told previous owner has now found log book so can't wait to get her on the road.
My 10 yr old goes to school in Honiton he is at Manor house prep school.
Buckerell is just the next village to mine.

hi poppi

A teacher who used to work at my school now works at manor house. Her name is Rachel. I work at Littletown. my eldest girl just done her gcse's at Colyton Grammar and my son goes to Exeter school. I ring the bells at awliscombe and buckerell. was at awliscombe this evening. will be taking skye to the practises next week when shes taxed and insured. Ive just finished reupholstering the cushions and fabloning and varnishing and painting etc.:D[8D]:) Its fun isnt it[?][^]

Whats the teachers surname and subject as its a small school.
What colours have you chosen for commer interior?
I'm doing yellow and lime, I saw some lovely laura ashley fabric but a bit too expensive as next year we want to redesign the layout inside so maybe then.

her surname is Mitchell. Im doing blues for inside. putting curtains up today hopefully. the buttons for the cushions will take ages to make and they were expensive but its going to look great i think. got to get another frige as mine is defunked!! not too sure if i will be lucky so may have to change for a cool box. Trago Mills does some lovely material.:D[8D]

That really is something special Panky, thanks for that. I love blurb that goes with these things - 'commer guide to freedom' ad I have got proudly announces 'upholstered seats' as a selling feature - does this mean base models only had wooden benches?:D
On yours I like the vase of flowers on the worktop and just know that they forgot to move it when they drove off again[)]
Would love to add to the archive and........

Thats it Miss Mitchell teaches reception she's great with the kids.

Does anyone have any Highwayman related old pics or ideas for interior fittings? please.

Sounds like a class for budding television engineers, if I see any highwayman layouts on my travels will get some snaps for you. Know of a couple that have been in this area, but not sure where they are at the moment - one was on its' way down through France to Portugal, not sure if he made it back again.

Those converters certainly liked their 'wilderness' shots. The factories must have been next to the same bit of wilderness :D
