Hi everyone, i'm new to this forum and also new to commers! i hail from victoria australia where commers aren't really a popular or common item. Hence why i have joined this forum! to learn from those who have been around them for a while.
I do have a commer its a 69 van that i swapped for a 56 combi panel van shell that i had in bad need of resto in the swap i got my panel commer that runs and drives (dosen't stop!) and a spare parts van as well.
I really do not know much about them at all and no one down hear really seems to know either so i will be calling or your combined mines quite a bit i think!

So far i have repaired the dint in the nose cone and replaced the door (had some strange looking accident damage!)

And for something to do iv started to make my own sunvisor, i have a factory style mesh one but i dont like the look of it.

Cool van mate all original paint aswell !! Do you see many big mesh screen visors out in Oz the ones that move up and down for commers ?? They Fit at the bottom of the windscreen I fancy one for mine...I was shipping them back for vws some years ago , left one in out back some were it fell off my roof rack !

Also been playing with ideas for the rims dont know weather to leave them stock ratty white or repaint in red oxide?
has anyone got any pics of a van with readerly available rims on it eg. early jeep or alike?

Also here is a logo i have been playing with, it has evolved from the MOPAR logo hence the m's (im a chrysler man have many valiants thats why the commer was an easy choice!)

Nice van Bigcal!,looks pretty straight and ready for some custom mods.Rims look good in the red oxy mate.
like you say not so many Commers down here, ive only seen a couple on Ebay and they have always been too many K's away from me in WA.

You could always squeeze a six pack in the engine bay [}:)]

Wow, all i see is fluted panels everywhere - Your house, the garage, next door's house, the Commer. bloody all over the place. Oh and those Hubcaps.......Stop rubbing it in........I lost mine at Commerfest literally a day after being given it. Can i have it back please Martin?

Glad to see your Commer on the forum. Did you manage to find the other two vans I told you about? I didn't hear back from you?!?!

If you'd like to know anything about the Commer, I'm sure the Australian members of the forum would be happy to help out. There is a wealth of parts and knowledge regarding these old vans within Melbourne, you just need to look a bit further than the internet...

Ive seen the one panel van located on the south cost, on Ebay in the 3 months ive been in WA.Ive not seen a Commer on any highway.Im beginning to think its going to be impossible to find a Commer this side of Australia.

Plenty of Aircooled demons though....
