Ok... well that's more info, will run through it all again tomorrow!!! - had enough today.
The inhibitor is new from Speedies.. I had thought of putting the old one back in, but the internal end of the switch plunger is badly worn (assume from use?) and is also stuck solid. The new one would push in and spring out with your finger.
One thing i did notice on the inside of the top cover plate assembly to the gearbox, is that the metal castings inside,(which moves about when select a gear)in particularly the part which will connect with the inhibitor plunger was very worn also.... although would that explain why it won't allow power to the solenoid??? (Not sure anyone will follow that??? - just thinking out loud!? lol)
