Fuel hose

What thickness is the fuel line from tank to fuel pump. I think I might have a leak in an area I can a) see and b) get to... so was wondering if it would be a job I could repair myself?

Any thoughts?

Is it the main steel pipe that runs the length of the van or the flexible stuff on the ends?

It will be a simple enough job, you just need to source some suitable tube.

Here's a pic of the point in the fuel pipe I think the leak is.

Dry this morning so only when pumping fuel...

Any thoughts...

I've just finished my fuel line that runs Upto the carburettor, I used copper....so far so good.

Luckily it looks like it is at a high point otherwise you could have drained half the tank onto the floor:eek: I suspect the corrosion has been caused by the clips that hold that other pipe/wire to the fuel line. It would probably be better to re-new the whole length of pipe but you could just cut out the affected piece and bridge it with some fuel hose. If you go that route then you might as well take the hose from the end where you cut the metal pipe back to the tank.

Here's a picture of my new fuel line plus a clean fuel filter.
