Fontaine's first week

we get one post a day [V]around 10-12 some times he does letters first then comes back with packet & parcels lol does vary cause we have a few different posties...still not turned up I wonder what time he posted it?

I've messaged the guy and asked him. He said he posted it on wed in his previous message. All i can say is we'll try again tomorrow. I'm working in Ketton at 1pm and will be an hour away. So could pop down around three with that pipe! You should have another delivery as well tomorrow which is the ducting - i forgot to change the postage adress, please apologise to your postie :D

My blimming keyboard broke yesterday so couldn't say another thanks and flash one of these :D last night!

Was very nervous when the engine fired up yesterday, every sound was a worry but, it went very well and fingers crossed for the rest!

Sadly i can't make it today, took my car out this morning and found i had a puncture :( so with a new tyre (and a further 2 more [xx(]) the petrol has to be saved for an extended trip tomorrow.

I have cable ties and will grab another 3 litres of transmission fluid and tomorrow- if you don't today - we can hopefully go for a spin :D:D[8D]:p

The terrible words - 'that van is going up for sale' have been uttered today - and this time its serious :( :(

I'll tell the boss that :D;) There is no way after everything we have done prior to our visit to yours and with everything you two have done that we would willingly give her up. I'm a bit more positive now and ways will be found...:)

So how have you got on today? Have you found bits to tinker with until we come with transmission fluid!? :p

been tying up the loose ends today, all good news apart from a very melted seat belt [:(!] it was lying horizontal about 8" from the manifold [:0] but i have replaced it [^]
so, i decided to make a titanium heat sheild :p

Do we have to sell her to you for that £500 or is it just a donation your making :D;)

My pops will have nothing to moan about if we sell her - it won't happen, not now, i'll get a proper job if i must :D :)

The manifold was your side, i'm taking no blame for this 'accident'! Looks cool though that plate does - something else for me to keep clean :D. Can't wait for tomorrow now!

a few teething troubles [xx(] but some good progress made today [^]
seems the timing was out as the first test run was VERY sloooooow :I and an air lock in the cooling system. still running a bit hot but getting better [^]

went to work in fontaine today :p. no issues to report apart from slightly over advanced timing and a resonating air duct [^]

HELP! What does resonating air duct mean! Thats so rubbish of me i know- you've taught me nothing ;) I even just googled it....

We are chuffed it is going so well, we shall get that timing sorted soooon. It won't be tomorrow though :( The bank manager has informed me that i have only pennies left and therefore have a self imposed petrol shortage! I will have to wait (and so will the cake) till sunday. Feel free to take it to work again!! :p

Wooohoooo. Fontaine and i arrived safe and sound, with a backfiring finale! The engine ran well, the temp got up to about 118 on the long stretch of A1 so i put the heating fan on and it dropped slightly. Back on the B roads it was settled at about 108. I've not checked the water yet, but will do shortly......just have and it's lost a very small ammount. There is a brass expansion tank for sale on ebay which is in Leicester so i will keep my eye on that!

I think the engine would hit 70 and sit at 60-65mph ok but i didn't want to push it on its first long run and happily sat at 55-60mph.

Thanks again guys for all your hard work. It was so amazing to be driving her in the dusky sun again- it makes it all worth while.

We are looking forward to meeting many more in cambs very sooon!!
