we've been looking into having LPG coversion fitted on Wilma and have come up with these results:
cost: £500ish if you do it yourself
£1000- £2000 if you get it done by professionals
doing it yourself is cheaper but often problematic as it can be difficult to set timing/engine up to run well, and you have no one to go back to should it all go pear shape.
Will the cost of having the conversion done by professionals be worth it if you are only going to do a few hundred miles a year?
LPG is becoming more popular and is fairly easy to get but is also going up in price, We've decided not to go ahead at the moment and see if we do the sort of miles that would justify having her converted. If we do, we'll go for the professional option so we'll have a guarentee etc, as we know a few friends who have had problems doing it themselves, I'm not intending to try and put you off just to let you know what we discovered when we asked about, cheers Jayne[:X] [:X]
