only cos i had a good teacher m8, i grew up watching my dad do these kind of things and as soon as i was old enough i would help him :) once i can weld i will be laughing lol. but think i may have a break today as all the hammering has made my arms sore this morn haha but if they feel better later i night attack a few spot welds. i cant wait to drive her to the mot station. be a while yet but the thought is inspiring ;)

well the weather here today is horrid so i am all frustrated [V] but i did get my hands on 3 more sheets of thick galvonised metal :) im not sure if i should use 1 of them to make my rear floor corners[?] its thicker than the rest of the floor so if i do. it should last for a good long time ;)

been on ebay as well looking for fancy bits to add to my wish list. and if i can find them i have decided i have to have 3 of these seats

i think these would look fantastic with the colour and it will be like having custon green seats without costing bundles :D:D

little bit more progress today (between the rain spells)

inner sills are off on the drivers side, im having trouble getting the small section of inner sill that runs over the top of the outriggers off[B)] any tips[?]

in the last pic you can see how nasty my jacking point is :I i have also bent my inner rear corner sill to shape and started making the new floor edging ;)

You're doing well[8D] That is an awkward little bit of sill, its held in by spot welds, you must have missed one:I
It looks like you will need to cut out some floor above the outriggers, the piece of sill should come away with it

yh the bit of floor by the jacking points needs to come out but the center 2 are good and solid and so is the floor i was debating cutting the floor edges out all the way along but im not sure yet. will check for spots tomorrow in case i missed a couple. once i get them bits out i can start offering up the new metal :) i also decided to build the floor lip with the thick galvonised runng behind the wheel arch. hopefully that should help keep her solid for a long time :)

cheers for the advice john, went out today and got them off in 5 mins lol. evan did it without cutting the good floor out :) sharpened a flat headed screwdriver and used it as a chisel to cut through the spot welds (chisel was to thick and started bending the floor) evan managed to offer up the first bit of fresh metal. inner sill section was a perfect fit so hopefully i can get a bit more done over the weekend...

only managed a couple of hours today as mel had to go hospital this morning for her wisdom teeth[:0] but i did manage to do a bit of the prep work, took off the rear step and started fitting new metal with screws to see how it all fits. my cheapy drill bits kept bending [}:)]

rear spring hanger fittede as well as a small repair section on the chassis rail;)

i noticed today that the rear outriggers are slightly longer than the rest. is that right[?]

and made/fitted up the rear inner corner sill

yh lol. i have known them to snap easy but not bend? dont buy drill bit from the range :( but their cutting disks are great. 2 for 1.29 and the grinder sanding disks are fantastic, 99p each :) so not all bad lol

I don't really think you need to bother with self tappers on these sections, I only did because I had no access from inside so couldn't push the floor down onto the outrigger - and I'm working on my own. Once your Dad joins you it will be easier to clamp and hold things in position while he tacks them in place, looks good though[8D]
When you start the outer sill repair self tappers will be useful, use them to to hold a strip of metal behind the joint to get it nice and flush - I did it on my peak repair and you cant see the join:)
I got off my backside and did a bit today as well, ready for a bit of welding tomorrow[8D]
