Well a bit more progress on dolly today, decided to attack her drivers side flutes with a wire wheel to see what they are really like
:I as you can see the bottom flute is pretty much gone (worse than the pics make it look[V]) but the top 1 is great apart from a couple of little holes (so far at least) the fluted panels will be getting replaced at some point before painting, but i need to try and keep them for now so im thinking i may chop off the bottom flute and replace it with some angle steal for now, un-fortunately i will lose the bottom flute but at least it will be solid until i replace them.
quick coat of red oxide to protect the good metal

cheek ha ha yh, looking forward to getting the rest done. im hoping i can use the good sections of the bottom flutes to repair the top 1's, its all about the recycling lol

found a couple of little tin worm holes i didnt know about, but not to bad. and thats the idea of all the wire wheeling. do away with rust and reveal hidden nasties :I

And at last something juicy to report, have been itching to try my new grinder out so today i found out my cutting disks and this was the result
there was NO TRACE of any inner sill [B)] but now that i have cut the outer sill off i can at least see where it should be lol evan made up a template of the first bit of floor repair i need to make [8D] the old sill was knackered but i have a nice replacement to put on once its had a little work done

lol john, im on my 3rd wire wheel now, my poor drill is gonna melt soon lmao. creeping slowly forward tim, will be making repair panels ect soon ready for a big surge forward lol. somebody did a bit of welding on the drivers side before but its a proper bad job, nothing but a big overlapping plate jammed in the hole with a few spot welds. i could do a better job with a soldering iron haha

got an angle grinder. not got a knotted wire wheel yet though lol.found a few hidden nasties so far but most of it is good metal, just the odd little bit to replace lol. i think i might invest in an air compressor and tools soon though. im useless with a paint brush lmfao
