DODGE SUPERVISTA

We’ll all the work on the rad, water pump, fan kits etc. came to nothing in the end!
‘boiled’ down to it being the head gasket blown in multiple places. Think this was a new thing as the coolant used to be clear but noticed it turned grey fairly quickly after a recent change and some oil present in the new rad. Running 190psi and not re-torquing it probably didn’t help.
Luckily had a fully rebuilt Sceptre engine in two halves in the garage with a Fully rebuilt head inc hardened valve seats - this one isn’t skimmed to death so should run more around 160-70 psi. Fitted just the head but with the original rockers and push rods and appears to be running beautifully and much less rattly for some reason!
Few flushes to go and a road test next week.

I’d be interested in a pic of bike rad fitted please. I have a bike rad and fan I’m thinking of cobbling together etc.

Will do - will be mounted to the front bumper if it goes on but I’ve got quarter bumpers and I think should look cool with a grill.
Panky has his fitted hidden under the valance so much more stealth

This is where Harvey's was originally tucked up behind the valence between the inverted scoop and the chassis rail

I've since moved it to get more air flow through it and its now attached to the back end of the scoop close to the main radiator. It looks a little vulnerable where it is now but it keeps the temp down where I want it nicely

well the vans been off the road a while but hopefully ready in May.
Running beautifully but just waiting to fit a new WOSP high torque starter motor after the original had a fault - have to say the customer service from auto electric supplies has been second to non. Taking the starter back and liaising with the manufacturer to get it repaired. Highly recommended

Which starter is it? The sunbeam/rapier, or the alpine mk1-3?

Did the Clun Run (nearly inappropriate) car rally yesterday. 120 miles around Derbyshire ending in a big classic car show. Really good event and did it with my 11 (navigator) and 6 year old, they both loved it and can’t wait till next years already!

Been a while and hope everyone is doing ok.
Got a QQ - recently on start up from cold the van takes loads of cranking, always used to be instant, I’m assuming it’s a fuelling issue. I’m thinking it’s due to the fuel filter between the tank and the SU carb (the van has an elec fuel pump so has a filter before the pump already).
I’d like to remove the second filter really question is do you think an SU carb really needs a second filter/do other people have them with an SU as I understand they can deal with a bit of crud unlike other carbs.

Ta

The only thing that blocks up on an SU is the float valve really. Unless you're finding loads of crud in the second filter I would remove one of them. Check the filter at the pump and if it's clean take it out - are you running a Tim tank by any chance?
