Commer Walk Thru

Does anyone know what the torque settings are for the cylinder head bolts on a 6 cyl 3.0 petrol Commer Walk Thru, its the same engine as the Humber Super Snipe.

I've had a search but come up blank I'm afraid:I There was a site where you could download manuals but the links didn't work[V]

Have you bought the 'Wilsons Special' by any chance:p

I haven`t got a clue Tim! They needed an 11/16th socket to undo them.
I would probably guess the torque should be around 70lb for them but I could be way off, they were tightened to about 30lb! or had not been retorqued after an initial run :(

Bernie might have the info - wonder if his Super Snipe came with a manual?

I am not a person, I am a number, 395 actually......Be seeing you!
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

That's probably a 1/2" stud then, so;) 67-75 would be about right

They are the same size/diameter head bolts as the head studs on CA`s so were probably fitted to lots of old UK engines. The torque setting for the CA is 72lb which is why I thought around 70lb for the Beast. I will torque her down to 75lb and see how we go ;)

It will be as long as the gasket set arrives tomorrow :)quote:

I've got a walk thru manual kindly donated by someone whose husband passed away a few years ago - I have not gotten around to scanning it like the other one; maybe ove3r Christmas there will be time between the port and ale?!

Nice work!
Thanks so much for that. Tim was spot on and I wasn`t so far out either.
Just need the gaskets now:(

I think I need an intern with a scanner :) I used to have an office admin and when she wasn't busy she scanned the other manual!
