Does anyone know what the torque settings are for the cylinder head bolts on a 6 cyl 3.0 petrol Commer Walk Thru, its the same engine as the Humber Super Snipe.
I haven`t got a clue Tim! They needed an 11/16th socket to undo them.
I would probably guess the torque should be around 70lb for them but I could be way off, they were tightened to about 30lb! or had not been retorqued after an initial run
They are the same size/diameter head bolts as the head studs on CA`s so were probably fitted to lots of old UK engines. The torque setting for the CA is 72lb which is why I thought around 70lb for the Beast. I will torque her down to 75lb and see how we go
I've got a walk thru manual kindly donated by someone whose husband passed away a few years ago - I have not gotten around to scanning it like the other one; maybe ove3r Christmas there will be time between the port and ale?!
