Commer PB pick up truck

Hi Phil and welcome to the Madhouse:D A cracking pick up you've got there, many happy hours of stinking of DERV ahead;)

I seem to have managed to copy the posts over to the readers rides thread, no one is as surprised as me. I do seem to have included one of Andrews posts but cant delete it without deleting the whole thread, looks like the thread has been started by Andrew now, sorry:rolleyes:

Thanks for the welcome Panky ;) stinking of DERV is one of my favourite pastimes, it comes a close second to getting brake fluid on my hands with drinking antifreeze being in 3rd place :D
Thanks for moving it, hopefully the discussion will carry on in that thread and keep it all together! I'm sure Dad won't mind about Andrew's post being mysteriously at the top!

Phil

First time I've done it so not too much of a disaster. I'm partial to a spot of brake fluid myself:)

He doesn't mind!
I look forward to mechanical instruction, but I prefer to only imbibe fluids which are intended for oral administration!!

Unbelievably we’ve owned the old girl three years now. She’s been totally reliable, sailed through MOTs with no problems and still raises a smile wherever I go. A little while ago out driving I couldn’t understand why a car in the far distance waiting to pull out from the left sat stationary. I soon found out, on getting to him copious hooting of his horn accompanied by thumbs up and applause (!)
She’s still in use for transporting my collection of old horticultural stuff. Picked up several new ones including a trip to Tiptree Essex 150 miles round trip.
She’s still looking good, no intention to tidy paint, she works for her living. And now MOT exempt, yippee!
Hope you’re having as much pleasure from your toys as I am.

Brilliant, keep the old fellas working - that's what they were built for:)
You and Colin Stewart have just got to get together:cool:

Nice pickup. Had to do some work on Carter as ever time I washed it I had to sweep the drive. The wood was rotting and and the paint was peeling off. Fitted a set of p5 rover wheels and Volvo crome discs. Hopefully Some day we will meet up. Still working for its living.B3AE7D82-B4F3-476F-821C-FCC0F6748641.jpeg603412CA-0FB2-4177-97F5-9ED97735ADA0.jpegA37217FF-C5A3-49AE-87DB-9A85B583ECC9.jpeg

Great to see Carter still working, Colin. I’m stuck out in the wilds of Norfolk so imagine we’re far apart. Maybe when I retire I’ll get to Commerfest!
