My bloody arms are dropping off so have called it a night.

Just need to put prop, exhaust, etc. etc. back on and see if that noise has been cured... please!

What an epic job this has turned out to be....[xx(]

Next problem..

Have fitted a new clutch master cylinder and a new slave... bled system, great clutch pressure - ideal.:)

The only problem is the slave piston practically comes out of the slave bore when the clutch is pressed and then locks open![:0]

Does anyone know how I adjust it or something? MM,CR,PKY,BMM,BAZZA?

Although why is this side of the slave flange not smooth? - it is definitely cast flat on the other side?? - plus the diagram in the manual looks that way???

Ah well... don't care if this works.

Probably machined on that side because the slave also fits other cars - mounted differently.

What a dork! - oh well sorted now. Although I must say the manual isn't clear... and it looks bloody awkward when fitted... Anyway, next problem.... the o/d has stopped working.. yes, it bloody has!

Took her for a spin in the sun and engaged o/d.. great, and then it dropped out of o/d. Got home and tested it... no 'click.' What should I check first? - power supply to solenoid I guess? - fuse is ok.

Oh, and the whirring noise is still there!!?!?!?[xx(] - what a waste of time that was!!! It only makes a noise when in neutral... so the clutch is dragging for some reason?!? - God knows why though!?

Could be the relay, try running a temporary live to the solenoid to test it. It could be you've just disturbed something with the ins and outs of the gearbox. I think you may have the same problem as me, bearings worn on the first motion shaft. Does it whine in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and is OK in top.
Sorry just re-read your post[8)] maybe it's the bearing on the gearbox input shaft - but I'm guessing [V]

Got to be gearbox bearings, as Panky says [xx(] The input shaft still turns when you are out of gear, the clutch only alows it to stop to change gear. So you will still get noises when out of gear ;)
