what amazes me is the temperature of the inlet manifold [:0] even with them now seperated it still gets hot to the point of being only just touchable [xx(]. with the original bolted together set-up the induced charge temp must be out of this world [V] not a good thing for resisting destructive detonation, not to mention power loss [xx(]
a LITTLE bit of heat is good for fuel vapourisation, but commers are taking it to extremes :I

Thanks to fontaine & needing to get bit's off no.3 sybhil now has a spare wheel [8D] what a relief :) & she started 1st time again yesterday can't wait to go some where/anywhere soooooooooooooon :p

just fitted electronic ignition to sybhil :p, works a treat so far. thanks Paul ;)
just need a volunteer to road test now, could be a struggle :D

OOPS Took cara for a test drive in Sybhil while the boys were working on Fontaine.on the way to the beautiful springs Sybhil kind of kept dying,but kept going [?]I was thinking ooh no Cara said Oh NO doesn't sound too good....got to the springs just what you need on a very hot day [8D]spent a little time there had a paddle Cara took some lovely pic's ;)
Headed back for home & Sybhil died..........silly me forgot to put fuel in & didn't have the can that was full in the Riley :I
Tim arrived with a can & away we went problem free [8D]

I am using Sybhil daily for this week to see how I get on with fuel economy & new tank. as the riley needs manifold gasket doing & using too much fuel [V]
So far no problems apart from lack of fuel :I but I am ready & waiting coil problem [}:)]

But least you know it'll be the coil that's smoked and not be tempted to swap over the dizzy which then seizes, mangling all in it's path :(

Hope your long term test proves successful - whilst they're still on friendly terms with the coil they do make a good difference.
