At last I'm excited as well - I can't remember the last time I went to sleep - I normally pass out
I think I might end up pinching the carb off the Mini just to get Harvey running, at least I know it is set up OK.

well lots of tinkering been going on but thats racers department [}] But I can report on the last run being much better She went so well I had to remove my foot from the pedal [:0]I forgot about the floating [8D]

well its a go-er , you can hear the air whistling through the venturi [8D]
had to put two springs in the dashpot to keep the slide down, thats what happens when you radius the throttle bore, they suck twice as hard [:0]
seems to pull much harder and certainly breathes better up the top end, chris chickened out at 65mph still accelerating [^]
no signs of overheating or water loss anymore, so its just hours of fine tuning in now

a difficult thing to photograph as well as explain [:0]
basically where the carb bore intersects with the slide bore you have a total of 8 sharp "corners" these create unwanted eddy currents and turbulence [xx(] so the idea is to put generous radii on them to give a smoother transition through the venturi. it allows the engine pulses to give a much stronger signal on the carb, to the point where it will need much stronger springs to keep the slide down. it works really well and all our vehicles have been done.
look down a carb mouth and you will see how badly shaped they are

started 1st time,I am amazed these things don't normally go this smoothly [8D]running on the drive approx 25 mins temp went to 12 o'clock & stayed there [8D]she is quite quiet too, sounds pretty good can't go any where cos I haven't got any fuel or money as usuall [V]
